Fabric and Fabric and Fabric

I was at my favourite LQS on Monday. And as I perused the aisles, touching this, oohing at that… I got to wonderings….. What is it about us quilters…? we see GORGEOUS prints….  we coo and sigh, and pet them, and (or, is that just me??)  keep them neatly, tidily folded sitting quietly on our shelf. Until… We catch that creative bug…the gleam in our eye….standing tall in the doorway of our creative space…rotary cutter in hand…. And we get the primal urge to rip and tear and shred….(sorry, just me??)…

Wait….where did Summer Go???? Warning; lots of photos!

SO I’ve been off work for two months now.  And at first, while scary, I was super excited to be able to actually get work done, finish off my UFOs, fix up stuff around the house, and above all, CLEAN up and out my sewing room.   (And I’m not gonna lie. Having the summer off?? This is the stuff dreams are made of.) Garden Shed before Painting  I had a long list of Things To Do. This is my tiny but mighty back yard. All Primed up.  Repaint the…

Snow makes for CUTE PHOTOS

Last year for Christmas; I received a wonderful and thoughtful gift….a Canon Rebel camera. I love it. I’m still learning to use it, for Christmas THIS year Santa brought a super cool zoom lens…(which I also have to learn how to use.) I know that photographs are probably the most important part of any blog; and I am slowly working on redoing most (all) of the photos of my quilts so you can really see the colours and work involved on them. Here are some updates you can see on…

Spring Cleaning

Yay!! SPRING is finally coming here in our frozen corner of SW Ontario. And I’m finally able to get down into the Quilt Cave without freezing my fingers off! This cold cold cold winter has gotten  me re-thinking the whole sewing-in-the-cave thing; I think I am going to move on up and begin to sew upstairs; in the spare room. Or, as we’ll call it, The West Tower. I also have been remiss in sharing some FAB news; I get to do my first Quilt Ebook review!! A new Fons…

Sooo tired!

What a fun day! The HBBA Show at the Timken Centre in St.Thomas was a happy day. I finished and displayed lots and lots of quilts, and met lots and lots of wonderful folks today! (And, re-met several people I hadn’t seen in YEARS!) All in all, a great day. But I’m exhausted, and soon off to bed. Today I heard a lot of people comment on how beautiful the quilts are, and how they wish they could find the time to quilt. I would smile and reply, Find the…

Purple Purple Purple FINISHED!

Woohoo!!! At long last…..it’s done! Today I trimmed, snipped, and finished. Everything is now packed and ready to be sent(Lizcarrit if you’re reading this THANKS for your patience!) I wonder why some projects come together in one day and others that SHOULD be simple don’t and take forever. Or little mistakes pile up and then it’s a Huge one that requires h o u r s of unpicking. At any rate; here are my two finishes for the weekend, and a new custom order that I’m working on the layout…

Brain Dead

So I’m home from the Christmas Crafty Show…omg I’m super tired. First time I’ve done a show all on my own, and it was a lot more work than I remembered! It also didn’t help that much of my product was stashed in bins and since I hadn’t seen it for over a year and a half, and didn’t quite remember what was in the bins…wellllll I just sorta brought it all. Yeah. Lots. So … Anyway. I had a lot of my sand dollar ornaments out, my shell wall…
